Who else will be climbing into a tree or slipping into a ground blind tomorrow morning? I can't wait. This is better than XMas when I was a kid! I have been watching does for the last two weeks and feel good about tomorrow. I will be hunting a fence corner on a run to a bedding area. I will be up in a tree with one of my hunting buddies, we will be videotaping for my upcoming video. Tonight will be sharpening broadheads, packing everything into carbon sacks, organizing ropes, knives,. flash lights, bow hooks!! I won't sleep tonight I guarantee you that!

Denny - we don't have one starting tomorrow but we do indeed have a firearm season starting on Thursday of next week. 8~( ------ "Early Firearm Antlerless Deer Season" There will be an early firearm antlerless deer hunting season on private land in certain DMUs in northeast Lower Michigan and Zone 3. See map in the 2009 Michigan Hunting and Trapping Guide. This season begins Sept. 17 and runs through Sept. 21, 2009. You must possess a valid private land antlerless deer license issued for the DMU in which you are hunting to take a deer during this season. You also must have permission from the landowner or leaseholder before hunting on private land, and the telephone number of the private landowner is required to purchase a private land antlerless deer license or DMA permit issued for the appropriate DMU to hunt deer during this season.

Denny. we were just talking about how insignificant Oct 1st may become here in Michigan. Brings a tear to my eye thinking about the traditions, and the fond thoughts that Oct 1st have always invoked.

Chuck and John, Next thing ya know they will be having a special firearms season for the inmates at Ionia prison. But nevertheless I'm looking foreward to the small game opener the 15th and our (for now) Oct 1 bow opener. Good Hunting!

Both my neigbhor and I didnt get drawn for a doe tag in Maine!?!?
Thats the first time I didnt get drawn for that unit since I started to hunt in that area in 2000.I have to wait for horns in order to shoot my meat.....that just sucks.Oh well.

Just got back from Maine and had a great time,we saw 8 deer total between the two of us,which is very good for Maine.My neighbor had a chance at two different bucks but things just didnt work out,I shot a nice small six pointer with my Browning .450 lever action.It was also the maiden voyage of my new hunting trailer which worked out very well,great company and very good weather.
