For many many years, I have always fought the whole snap shooting, early release target panic, or whatever you would like to call it. As a high strung, type A personality, nut case leering at deer from a tree, problems in my shooting usually would rise out of getting in a rush, and not nearly the control of my shot as needed. Well, after viewing the dvd by Sturgis and crew, over and over, something finally clicked in my mind while shooting,( I am hard headed, sometimes it takes awhile for the obvious to kick in), a four step process, with reaching anchor being the next to last step, has raised my acurracy and form consistency close to a hundred percent. I have not short drawn once, and I am using my back muscles like never before. My static release has changed to a dynamic one, with my fingers on my string hand touching my shoulder. Talk about a great feeling when releasing. Man, that dvd might work for someone else with "premature arrow releasation". Anywho, I would say that Rod Jenkins, Larry Yien, and Sturgis had some great advice. They improved Sturgis's shooting so much, he blew his shirt sleeves right off. Good Job Men. Bitten

There's a lot of good stuff on there......that's for sure. Like I said before bitten.......if I would have had these DVDs available to me, when I was young.......WOW! The learning curve would've been cut drastically. These guys have done quite a service for "Traditional" Archery/Bowhunting. No question about it. I'm ready for the next edition!

I agree Bitten. My own experience is that I watched MBB3, and thought "this sounds great." So when Rod Jenkins put on a class in my area, I signed up for it. There were about a dozen or so of us in his class, all experienced bowmen except for one person.
When he tested us at the beginning of the class, not one of us was really maximizing our use of back tension. Given our level of experience, I don't think this is something we would have believed if it hadn't been demonstrated to us in the class. Over the course of the class, he showed each of us how to maximize back tension, resulting in more consistent accuracy and also in a faster arrow for a given bow weight.
You were apparently able to "change your static release to a dynamic one, with your fingers on your string hand touching your shoulder," just by watching the DVD, whereas I had to be shown in Rod's class, but either way, it's a very worthwhile change to make.

John, I am happy that you enjoyed MBB3 and got some good from it!
During hunting season I tend to go hard to target. Between hunts, I'm back at the bale getting better. I've been at the bale for a year and a half and continue to improve ( have lights come on) I think part of it is doing things wrong for so long, it takes some uf us longer to get changes down.
When I watch myself on 3 now I can't believe how far I've come since then. It's a great ride.

Hey Bitten if I knew you needed help, I would have a made you a video a long time ago!! LOL
Serioulsy, MBB III is the best of the series in my opinion. I recommend it to everyone who asks me me for help. I have probably watched my copy at least 50 times...and get something more out of it each time.
Awesome job Denny, Darryl, Rod, and everyone else involved!

Great Video.Numerous parts made me take a step back and think. I love the back tension stuff and I love the part when Denny Sturgis talks about making changes. That really hit home for me. If Denny Sturgis can make changes I am sure many of us can. Most guys sit back and say, I have been doing it this or that way for thirty years and harvested blah blah blah animals and would never think to improve themselves. I even learned about the form master on that video.

MAX. I'd never seen a form master until Rod hooked me up to one. Yeah, my back tension was...ah...somewhat deficient. (grin)
Glad you enjoyed it. LOL

I just purchased MMB3 and it is the best money I have spent this year. I have always had a snap shooting problem with traditional equipment and just dealt with it not knowing how to address it or fix it. After just one viewing of the tape and trying what I seen on film I have been able to understand and overcome the whole snap shooting deal. Obviously I have a was to go to fix all bad habits but I now have a road map. I would recomend this video to anyone that wants to truly become a profecient traditional shooter. Thanks MMB3 crew !
