Hello. I have a plx on order which should be arriving in about a month. It is 42#@28" and it was suggested by a supplier that i use 50-55# shafts.Someone else had also suggested 60-65# shafts. I have shot 50-55# shafts out of other bows of the same poundage and they were fine. Just thought that i could get some opinions in this area. Thanks.

Your supplier is right! Shafts spined in the 50-55# range should be good. That assumes a 28" draw and 125 grain points.

at least 50-55 but I'd opt for the heavier 55-60's so I can just adjust point weight to get it where it needed to be.... unless you like shooting lighter arrows with the 55-60s you'll get a bit more heavier finished arrow becasue of the heavier point.

Tajue17, Heavier spine doesn't mean heavier arrows. Roughly, 11/32 diameter arrows are going to weigh about 12 grains per inch regardless of spine. The arrow spine I recommended will result in arrows weighing about 480grains which is over 10 grains per pound. That's a good weight for any bow.

I don't think he was talking about the lighter spine being lighter in of its self but the heaver spine being compensated with a heaver point giving the weight (with the point giving the addd weight) ?

Personally I shoot a 50# @ 26" PLx and 11/32 cedar arrows cut to 27" BOP and 125 grain points and find them to shoot really nice-

Bob Burton of Whispering Winds is great at getting you spined right with a Widow- give him a call with bow type and poundage, draw length and point weight- . I didn't get along with his hexpine shafts to well, like cedar and Fir better.- But his knowledge at hitting spine is great.

As I remember there is an arrow spine chart in the Widow manual that comes with your bow. I'd probably look there first or you could just call "the boys" and ask I'm sure they are really qualified to give you an informed answer. FRJ
