How do the longbow tip protectors work out for those of you who have tried them? I tried the recurve tip protectors on a PL, and it threw them off. I would like to protect the tips.
Thanks

You need to punch a hole in the back of the limb protector for the string to feed thru, that is how they stay on the limb. If you order it specifically for the PL, the hole is already there. When the string is fed thru the hole, it will not fall off.

Thanks Brian. That makes sense to me, and I have tip protectors to try it on.

Copy this link to your browser and you will see how the string should feed thru the protector.
Good Luck!

Good picture on how it works. I appreciate it, and believe I can adapt the ones I have to fit. I didn't want to buy more accessories without input from those who have used them. I have enough miscelleanous equipment as it is.
Thanks again

I have found a one inch piece of surgical tubing works great for me as a tip protector. Cheap and lightweight.

Joe,
Do you just stick it on the protruding end of the tip?

I apply a little wax or powder to the inside of the tubing and work it on to the tip. I leave a little overhang to cushion the bow when it is resting on the limb or while lowering from a tree. The tubing is open at the end but could be glued if you wanted. Works great for me with my pl bows.

Mike,
I agree that the BW tip protectors work well on the recurves, and wouldn't leave home without them. I have some of those, and will try to alter them. If I were ordering other items from BW, I'd thro some of them in.
Notyal, thanks for the reply I was curious about the open end.
