This is just a reminder to all to be careful. Last week I hit a little bump in a forestry road on my way in to bowhunt and turned my Honda foreman end over end forward with me under it. I was probably going too fast but was not really speeding. God in His mercy unquestionably saved my life; I do not know how or why but that He did. I spent three hours in the emergency room and after all the CT scans and X rays I had no broken bones and no internal injuries. It was a miracle. I broke my bow but my life was spared. I used to ride and race three wheelers and climb banks and have done my share of dirtbike stupidity all with very few scratches. Then I have this happen on a routine trip in to my stand. In short it can happen to you. Listen to what God is trying to tell you and be careful. I am truly blessed and thankful to be sitting here today talking with you folks again. I am not necessarily looking for a reply or certainly not looking for sympathy: I just want to share God's grace in my life and remind each of you to be careful. :-)

ATV's are very dangerous - and i believe it is because they are so simple to operate that we do not realize the danger. I am a funeral director and have delt with many who were not as lucky as you. Always wear a helmet too.
Glad you are still with us.

Yes Sir........I own a Honda Rancher 350cc 4WD ATV. I'm an old man and I drive it like one.......putt putt. Learned my lessons long ago. I realize that it can happen in an instant. Even when you aren't really sppeding or driving fast & loose. Glad to hear you are OK.......you are right to thank the Lord as well. Amen

While in Wyoming recently on a deer hunt, I was riding with a friend on his side-by-side atv going down the mountain in the dark. Without warning there was a violent crashing sound and the atv came to a quick halt. I looked over to where my my friend was sitting to see a tree top that had fallen onto the trail's edge, sticking just inside the roll bar and over the driver's seat and protruding 6 feet beyond his head rest.
Thought he had been beheaded.
Turned out he was pushed behind me by the branches, suffering multiple scrapes to his chin, cheek, temple and his ear. He also had huge bruises on his upper arm and shoulders.
He is going to install auxillary lights before next year...
Be careful and good luck.

Well Mark, you have had your warning. Hope there isn't a next time. I used to race dirt bikes, rode on the road, and off road. It can happen in an instant. In 1971, I did an endo on the river. Hit a log half buried in the sand. Flipped my bike, broke my collarbone, and knocked me smooth out. The bike landed on top of me. Had it not been for a good helmet, I would not be here typing this now. Let that be a warning to all of us.

My hunting buddy's father (no hell raiser, he was past all that) was climbing a hill in Kentucky (his to be retirement home/cabin) when his dad's ATV went front wheels over, landed on him and broke his neck. It was not diagnosed correctly at the hospital, they sent him home (not knowing his neck was broke). That afternoon he unknowingly severed his spinal cord. Parralyzed from the neck down.
He did not want to live after that and lived for only 9 more months.
Sad.

Im glad that you are ok and thanks for the reminder. It's pretty easy to jump on the 4-wheeler and take off across the pasture without giving much thought... I was thinking about driving safely today.
thanks again

Men, Thanks for your comments and for bringing your own safety to the conscious level. I shudder to think what would have happened if my wife or my little boy or my dad(81) were on there with me. By God's grace and mercy I am still here. I just wanted to share and to make everybody think about life and God and safety in pursuit of the things we love. Thanks for taking time to look and think.
