Are there any Black Widow owners in the Charleston, WV area that have an Asbell grip on their BW recurve?

Thanx, Tom Ward

To anyone else:

Do you like your Asbell grip...why?

Thanx again

Tom I ordered my recurve with the Asbell grip. I shoot instinctively with the bow canted. The Asbell grip drops my thumb slightly lower than my pointing finger which just seems more natural to me. The difference between the standard grip and the Asbell is not severe and actually if I were customizing the grip for myself I would emphasize the drop even more. I'm happy I chose to go with the Asbell type grip. Grounder

i also shoot with a cant, you can not go wrong with the asbill if you shoot this way

They can sand down the Asbell grip to the regular grip later on, if you don't like it, but not the other way around. I have BW bows with both grips and prefer the Asbell grip, and have never heard from anybody who didn't like the Asbell grip. But it's not a big thing. I notice the difference when I switch bows, and then pretty much forget about it.

I had looked at Black Widows for about 20 yrs. I shot them a few times at Cloverdale over the years. When they came out with the Asbell Grip, and I took one out and shot it.. Well..........it was the missing piece of the puzzle for me personally. I then bought one. A PSAIII Autumn Oak Recurve.."Granny" I shoot Granny better than any bow I've ever owned......I've owned a lot of bows, and I have always been a decent shot. Fits me like an old, well worn glove. I also cant my bow when I shoot.......it's just like pointing your finger. At least it is for me. Good Luck!

i prefer the asbell grip.it fills my hand and i feel better when i cant the bow. but its a personal one. when i choose between my gray(standard)or iron (asbell)i go with my iron.

I've got a PSAX curley bubinga with standard grip in great shape. I'd trade for any non-graybark asbell...even toss in some cash. It's that much better. I may have a form issue, but I don't brush the string against my forearm with the Asbell gripped riser.

If G.F.A. ever did anything right it was that grip. Donnie.

I have small thick hands and get along better with the standard grip.

Appreciate everyone's time and advice. I'm about 90% sure it will be the Asbell grip.

I really like the Asbell grip as well,it fills the hand and feels right at home with a strong cant of the bow.I wish my SAV and PMAV had it.

I have large hands and I cant my bow also, I really didn't realise how much more comfortable the Asbell was until I shot one of my old bows recently
