Cant talk german but im a mix of Schlueter and Novian.. all GERMAN.. ANCESTORS ALL CAME FROM GERMANY BEFORE IT WAS CALLED GERMANY??? It seems like a slight mis.. communication on the meaning of your thread but i see the problem as just a difference in culture and phrasing.. and i welcome you seems like we all have the same ..passion with our bows..and you bet i love my WIDOW ....woofer

Know the feeling.. i have a appointment monday to get ..another spinal injection..talk about a trip....i took a buck a few years back and couldn t even gut him..couldn t drag him ..a young fellow happenrd by and carried the deer about 2 miles for me..he is still a good friend and i dont even know his last name...thats bowhunting at its best...woofer... hang in there grizz..

wenn du dich an mich erinnern kannst,hatte in eisenbach '04 den morrison dakota gekauft.war mit meinem plv longbow nicht so glücklich. aber jetzt ist alles okay mit meinen recurves.
wenn ich auch nur die hälfte von den jungs hier verstehe, ist es aber doch ein geiles feeling.

Lieber Dieter/Grizzly! Ich bin zwar Ami, aber mit meinen Deutschkenntnissen komme ich etwa zurecht. Ich habe eine Reihe von Freunden in der Naehe von Mainz und Frankfurt. Ich finde es toll, daB du dich fuer das traditionelle Bogenschiessen interessierst. Schade, daB die Jagd mit Pfeil und Bogen in Deutschland verboten ist. Habt ihr 3-D Anlagen in der Naehe? Ich hab' mich mal mit einem Oesterreicher unterhalten, der mir einige Fotos von der 3-D Anlage seines Schuetzenvereins geschickt hat. Herzliche GrueBe aus Pennsylvanien! Gary

Hi Gary, herzlichen dank für deine antwort.habe mich schon über deinen deutschen nickname gewundert und wollte dir auch schonmal schreiben. es ist nicht so schlimm das in deutschland die bogenjagd verboten ist.dann wäre der bogen warscheinlich kein sportgerät mehr und das ist dann das ende vom "traditional way of dream". wir haben hier in germany ja schon das problem mit "roving"! mir ist es schon passiert das ich im wald von joggern und bikern angesprochen wurde,ob das auch erlaubt ist was ich da mache.wir haben in der nähe ca.130km im sauerland (brilon) einen super 3-d parcours mit 120 2 und 3d zielen.das traditionelle bogenschiessen ist stark gewachsen.vielleicht brauche ich einmal deine hilfe,falls ich etwas aus amiland möchte. best regards and bless you dieter aus germany

Lieber Dieter! Ein ehemaliger Schueleraustauschpartnerlehrer hatte sich einen compound bow gekauft und mit nach Deutschland gebracht. Ich habe vergebens versucht, ihn zu ueberreden, einen recurve oder longbow zu kaufen, aber er wollte unbedingt einen "modernen Bogen". Seine Familie besitzt einen Bauerhof suedlich von Mainz. Dort durfte er den Bogen schiessen, aber er hatte sonst keine andere Moeglichkeiten. Es freut mich sehr, daB das traditionelle Bogenschiessen einen groBen Aufschwung erlebt. Meine letzte Aufenthalt in Deutschland was in 2001. So viel ich weiB, gab es in Deutschland damals keine 3-D parcours. Viel SpaB! Gary

..ja Gary das ist so mit den Teachers in Germany. Die Wissen alles und dann auch noch besser.Er hatte keine möglichkeit und maybe auch keine Freunde mit dem Compound :)
Das Problem mit den "Pullypoppers" ist oft ein zu starker Bogen den Sie steil nach oben über dem Target ausziehen,wenn das Release aufgeht dann war's das.Deshalb sind Compounds nicht gern auf 3-D Parcours gesehen oft sogar VERBOTEN.

Hi Alex, for those who have one,YES #1.For the other ignoramus are Bear,Martin and Border.Sorry for that. I can't stand People who pay 1100 Euros for an Custom Kodiak,it's commodity. Some Archers pay over 1000,- Euros for an Border Black Douglas and you can scrape of the paint from Limbs with your fingernail.That goes never. They say : "my new Border are 3feet faster than the older one". My question: how fast are the older one ? Don't know = the answer ! Is it crazy or is it crazy ? Regards Dieter

klar doch. Dann sollte man auch Rudi Weick nennen.
Ich meinte aber die breite Masse,davon kennen sehr wenige Achim oder Rudi.Die halten einen Deerslayer oder Ragim für Top Teile.
Ich hatte z.B. einen HÄBU in Cocobolo,ein super Bogen.Trotzdem schieße ich meinen Ironwood mit Asbell Griff am liebsten.
Ich glaube wir haben beide Recht und schießen für Uns die besten Bögen.

I was hoping you had tasted the venison, because I have seen them on a Game Preserve (Hunting for a fee). They are a pretty deer, and would make a nice trophy.
It is unfortunate that you cannot hunt in Germany with a bow. Even if you cannot hunt with a bow, archery is still fun.

depending on the deer's diet there is not a lot of difference in their taste. I tried Fallow deer, Axis and Whitetail meat, that came from the same ranch in Texas and the taste was similar, since they shared the same food.
Since you talk about Fallow deer in a game preserve, they should be tasting good, since most of their food is more than likely corn, protein feed and natural grass. Just try to avoid shooting a buck in rut, since that can have a big influence on the taste. :-)

I appreciate your response. I can't say I've disliked any venison, and as you state - they taste as good as the feed they have consumed. These Fallow deer are a beautiful animal, and would make a nice mount.
