I thought you folks might find this interesting.
Today was my birthday, and I had a heck of a good one.
Killed this pig at 4:15 p.m., and had a small yearling doe under me 30 minutes later.
I let the doe walk. She wouldn't have amounted to more than maybe 30 lbs of meat.

Thanks Folks.
Emile, I'm not having a very good deer season either, as far as seeing deer is concerned. I didn't see a single deer until about a week ago, but things are picking up now, and I have seen several good bucks, and some nice mature doe.
I've only had two shot opportunities on deer - the doe I passed on last night, and a booner 9 point that my hunting buddy ran off of me when he came ridding in on his 4wheeler.
My hunting buddy is kinda cripple, so I cut him some slack. I just wish he didn't think he needs to stop, and try to talk to me everytime he passes by LOL.
The 9 was at 15 yards facing me, and I was just waiting for him to turn to give me a more favorable shot. My buddy came riding in, but the deer didn't run, and instead just quickly hopped into the brush waiting for the 4wheeler to pass, but my buddy stopped, and when he did the deer blew out at light speed for the next county. I'm convinced, that had he not stopped, the deer would have walked right back out, and I would have had a perfect broadside shot on him.
Such is life, and I am still having a blast shooting pigs. I'll get a deer or two before the season ends. Bow season ended yesterday, and the general/rifle season started today. I'll continue hunting with my recurve. For me theres no other way.

Rick, Ive seen only two deer during hunting hours and two and night in my clover field up north.I had the two coming into my setup when I grunted at them only to have a guy run through the middle of the woods with his two dogs just as the deer were within 40 yards of me.I was a half a mile from any trail,it was the strangest thing.

Emile - I know how it feels brother.
My hunting buddy ran a big 11 pointer off me this evening. I am getting a little more than slightly frustrated with this guy.
I finally start seeing deer, and some real nice one, and this guy won't stay put long enough for me to close the deal.
I swear it is like he is setting out the somewhere watching, and as soon as he thinks I am about to score, he comes driving or walking by.
Thats OK though, cuz next year this place is all mine.

Looks like a pretty happy birthday to me!
It didn't even sound like Monty was too upset with you for shooting his old girlfriend...... :-)

Congrats and happy b day.. I just got 3 of the 200 gr screw ins and lost one, shooting at a squirrel from my stand, dang thing buiried up in a root 6 inches deep in the ground, I broke the tip of it trying to get it out, then destroyed my 2nd one when I hit a rock square on again shooting at a squirrel, youd think i would learn not to shoot $10.00 heads at squirrels, LOL.. they seem to be a great head !!! Man, id have to do something about that huntin buddy!!

Well Done Rick! I like the looks of that pig. I know they're a nuisance to you but I would love to someday hunt them with my widow. Not saying I wan't them to invade Iowa, just would love to have the experience of going after them. Great Shot, nice work, and good luck with your weekend "freedom".

Me, Blackwidow PMA, and VPA Terminator do it again.
This is pig #13 for 2009.
She dropped like a sack a wet cement.
This is now pig #2 - #13 with the same arrow, and VPA Broadhead.
Added a pic to the photobucket, and you can see more at following LW thread
