FINALLY DREW AN IOWA TAG AFTER THREE YEARS AND I GO AND TEAR MY QUAD MUSCLE OFF MY KNEECAP. HAD SURGERY ON OCT 3 AND BEEN WORKING EVER SINCE TO SALVAGE THE HUNT. MY BUDDIES SET UP A GROUND BLIND FOR ME SINCE CLIMBING A TREE AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. PLAN TO HUNT FOR AT LEAST A FULL WEEK! A TWELVE HOUR RIDE OVER TWO DAYS AND I'M THERE! THANK GOD FOR GOOD FRIENDS!!!

Could not have picked a better time to be there. Being on the ground is a challenge. Take Lots of noscent showers and spray you and equipt. reaal good with a scent eliminator spray. If your near where the Lakosky's hunt, the deer are wise to any scentlok type clothing! You are truly blessed to be in the land of the Giants!

Good Luck Mike I have the first 2 weeks of nov. off. Hunted all last week saw some good bucks close but nothing special 1 more week to go but it has been very warm hear. keep us posted.

Probably should tell you that the rut is in pretty much full swing. I has a friend that saw 5 bucks within 30 min saturday morning. I thought that the temps in the 60's all weekend would screw the deer up but they were moving a lot. Good Luck!

Get a comfy chair, make sure the blind is brushed in, try to make sure the sun is at your back and shadows are cast over the blind. Practice shooting from the blind, it can be tough, where black if you can, cover your face and hands, and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
