Does anyone have a recommendation for a block target? It needs to be for field points and broadheads and be good for cedar, aluminum, and carbon shafts. I have plenty of hay bales laying around, but I would rather not shoot broadheads into them.

thanks

Jeff

www.sportsmansguide.com

every once and a while he has factory blemished ones for great prices.

I have the "pup" the smallest one and it works great and lasts a very long time.

Go with the Rinehart 18 sided one. I have shot carbon, cedar, aluminum, field points, blunts, judos and broadheads into this thing and it does a great job. The best part is that it has a handle on it so I can throw it around the yard and get different shots every time.

The rinehart justin mentioned is by far the better target. If you shoot a lot, meaning 2-300 arrows a week or more. The block targets just do not live up to their marketing. In just 4 weeks I've had the blocks with weak spots where you had to have a backstop to keep the arrows from going through. This has happened on more than one of their upper end block targets.

The squirrel is right! Hands down the Rhinehart, best value for the money.

I have tried about every block target and none of them live very long if you shoot alot of broadheads. for field points I also use the stuffed bags they last forever and arrows pull easy.

I have had the original block for three years and shoot broadheads in it three to four times a week. Here is the secret. I put two extra bands on the target when I bought it, then I cut it down the center, making it into two thinner block targets. This is still plenty thick enough to stop the arrows from going all the way through the target.

I set up both targets and shoot to different distances and angles. After I shoot both targets, twelve arrows. I remove the broadheads from the shafts before pulling the arrows. This allows for not tearing up the target upon arrow removal.

I know that this sounds like alot of trouble, but it really only take a couple of minutes, and it allows me to rest a bit between shots. You can have bands installed at any local hardware store.

Hope this helps.

I have had bag targets, rhinehart 3D targets, Delta Targets, McKenzie, and that one with the bumble bees on it - and none have lasted as long as the block. I shoot nearly every day and shoot anywhere from a couple dozen to a couple hundred arrows each time I shoot and my little block pup has lasted longer than any other target I have tried. Now admittedly I don't shoot broadheads into it all the time - see no reason too - I shoot my broadheads into the target maybe 6 times a year right before season to make sure they are flying the same as my field tips - I see no reason to shoot them more than that.

My Rhinehart 3D target was the next closest for lasting long - but my block pup lasted even longer than that insert did.

My 18x1 Rhinehart was purchased at the same time as my block, I shoot them pretty equally. The Rhinehart shows no wear and the block definitely has visble holes in it. I like the block because it is brown, but I prefer the Rhinehart, by a huge margin.
